I know it can be really hard to find a mentor and someone willing to give you the time and attention to grow as a photographer or business owner. I went through that too. When I first became interested in photography, I wanted to learn from more experienced photographers, but when I tried to find a mentor, I discovered that the pressures of a competitive and over-saturated market made it impossible for me to find an experienced photographer who would take me under their wing.
As an educator, I love to learn, and jumping in head first wasn't how I initially planned to become a photographer. It wasn't easy learning by trial and error and it took me five years to feel confident enough in my work to get up the courage to leave my stable teaching job and follow my passion to pursue photography full-time.
I don't think you need to waste precious time learning the way I did, and my goal is to guide you through the steps you can take to reach your goals faster.

MY STORY
You probably already read somewhere that I was a high school teacher for 14 years before making the leap to full-time photographer. During that time, photography was a hobby that I indulged in mainly during the summers while I traveled to new countries. It was on one of my many trips that I learned to use a DSLR camera and discovered my passion for photography.
Within a few years, I was charging money for my work and photography became a side hustle while I dreamt of making it my full-time career. Almost five years ago, I found the courage to leave my teaching job and haven’t looked back!
As a new mom and avid traveler, I love teaching people how to use their digital camera so they can record life's moments before they vanish and, as a professional photographer, I love teaching other pros how to streamline their systems and improve their marketing so they can attract new clients. Now I'm here to combine my love of teaching, photography, and business and teach you all my secrets so that you, too, can feel confident in what you do.

I'M A WIFE AND A MOM
Here I am with my husband, Jay, and daughter, Olivia! We live in NJ, in the house that I grew up in, and we love daily quiet moments on the front stoop to take a pause from our busy day, chat about life, and wonder at Livie’s latest milestones. I LOVE TO TRAVEL
I love to travel! I’ve been to thirty-nine countries and have lived abroad on three different occasions. Travel is what first inspired me to become a photographer and I bought my first DSLR so that I could take better photos of the people I met, the sites I discovered, and all the things I wanted to remember from my trips abroad.
I LOVE TO RUN
I started running so I could spend more time with my then-boyfriend, now-husband, since he's a marathoner. Now I run in the mornings with my sweet baby in the jogging stroller. I love starting my day out this way - it helps me clear my mind so that once it's nap time for Livie, I can focus on my goals for the day. If you're balancing being a parent with running a business, I'm sure you can relate.
